Getting in touch
Life in the UK Test is made by a small independent studio. Write to info@unsel.co.uk and you will reach the developer directly. If something looks wrong in a question, tell us the test number and the question; we check every report.
Where the questions come from
The questions are based on the official handbook, Life in the United Kingdom: A Guide for New Residents. Life in the UK Test is an independent app. It is not made by, endorsed by or connected to the Home Office or any UK government department, and it cannot book your test for you. Book the real test only through the official GOV.UK service.
How the tests work
There are 17 practice tests with 24 questions each, 408 questions in total. As in the real test, you need 18 correct answers (75%) to pass. Some questions have two correct answers; the screen tells you when to pick two.
- Study mode shows straight away whether you were right. With the app in Turkish, an explanation of the answer is also shown.
- Exam mode works like the real test: the translation button and explanations are hidden, and you can add a timer.
Change the mode, the language, the theme, the font size and where the question sits on the screen in Settings.
English and Turkish
The real test is in English, so questions are shown in English. In study mode, tap TR to see the question and its answers in Turkish, and EN to go back. The whole app interface can also be switched to Turkish in Settings → App Language.
Wrong answers, favourites and random tests
Every question you get wrong is added to the Wrong list so you can retry it later; answer it correctly and it leaves the list. Tap the star on any question to keep it in Favorites. Random builds a 24-question test from all 408 questions. The analytics, history and random statistics screens show how you are doing over time.
The free trial and the one-time purchase
There is no subscription. For the first 3 days, Tests 1–4 are free. A single one-time purchase unlocks all 17 tests, random tests, the wrong-answers list and favourites, for good.
The trial start date is kept securely on your iPhone, so deleting and reinstalling the app does not restart it.
Restoring a purchase
On a new iPhone or after reinstalling, open Settings → Premium Access and tap Restore Purchase. The purchase is tied to the Apple Account you bought it with. Refunds are handled by Apple through reportaproblem.apple.com.
Your progress
Scores, history, wrong answers and favourites are stored only on your iPhone. The app works without an internet connection; a connection is needed only to buy or restore the full version. To start again, use Settings → Reset Study Data. Deleting the app removes everything it stored.
