DocuPair Help & Support

How DocuPair works, why it sometimes does what it does, and how to reach a human.

Getting in touch

Write to support@unselstudio.app. It helps a lot if you tell us your phone model, the system version and what you were doing when something went wrong. Please do not send photos of identity documents by e-mail.

Getting a good scan

Put the document on a plain, contrasting surface with even light and hold the phone parallel to it. DocuPair finds the edges by itself and, when it is fully in view and held still for a second, takes the picture automatically (you can switch "Auto capture" off and use the shutter yourself). If the corners are not quite right, drag them; the magnifier shows the exact spot under your finger.

Front and back on one page

When you scan an ID card, scan the front, then the back. On the save screen choose how they are placed on an A4 page: one below the other, side by side, or as two separate pages. Cards are drawn at their real size (85.6 × 54 mm), so a printed copy matches the card.

Scanning a passport

Choose Passport and scan the photo page. DocuPair reads the two lines at the bottom (the machine-readable zone) and checks the check digits. If something does not match you will see a warning; correct the name in the save screen and check the numbers against the document.

Finding documents

Search looks at names, notes, tags, categories and the text recognised inside your scans, ignoring capital letters and accents. Recognition runs in the background after saving, so a brand-new document may take a moment to become searchable.

Expiry reminders

If a document has an expiry date (passports fill it in for you), DocuPair reminds you 90, 30 and 7 days before. Reminders need notification permission; if you refused it, turn it on in your phone's settings. You can switch reminders off in Settings → Expiry reminders.

The free trial and the unlock

You have 7 days to try everything. After that you can still open, search, export and delete your documents; scanning new ones needs the one-time unlock (Settings → Full version).

Reinstalling does not restart the trial. To get the unlock back on a new phone or after reinstalling, open Settings → Full version → Restore purchases, using the same Google account.

Sharing and exporting

Open a document and choose Export: PDF or JPEG, small, medium or original size, an optional watermark and, for PDFs, a password. The file is created on your phone and handed to the app you pick.

App lock

Settings → App lock. DocuPair then asks for your face, fingerprint or device passcode when it opens and after it has been in the background. If you cannot unlock, use your phone's passcode or PIN. We cannot reset it for you, because we never have it.

Moving to a new phone

Documents are not backed up or transferred automatically. Export what you need (PDF or JPEG) and copy it over, then restore your purchase on the new phone.

Deleting your data

Move a document to the Trash from its menu or by swiping; it is deleted for good after 30 days, or right away if you empty the Trash. Deleting the app removes everything. Files you exported or shared are separate; delete those yourself.
